BA in Music
Clayton State University’s Music division prepares aspiring vocal and instrumental students.
Students can pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in music, in which they will study music in the context of a liberal arts curriculum.
Those who are interested in teaching music may earn a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree that leads to Georgia K-12 teacher certification. They may select either a choral/vocal track or instrumental track in the program.
The Division of Music’s mission is to provide:
- Professional preparation for performers, educators, scholars, and creators
- Broad-based liberal arts education in music
- Service to the university and the public through performance and community engagement
We have an accomplished faculty of performers, scholars, and educators who are committed to helping our students to succeed. Our graduates are successful teachers, performers, church musicians, and music entrepreneurs.
Clayton State University is home to Spivey Hall, internationally renowned as one of the world’s best small concert halls and annually presenting many of the top artists in classical music and jazz.
