Spivey Hall: Artists around the World, Artists at Home

A dream made real in and of itself, Spivey Hall is a testament to the power of giving and dedication. Our world-renowned performing arts venue was the project of prominent Atlanta citizens Emilie and Walter Spivey, who dreamt of bringing music from all over the world to Atlanta. They succeeded.

Spivey Hall opened its doors on the Clayton State campus in 1991 and now hosts a world-renowned concert series that features jazz and classical music artists. Musicians and music lovers alike come to enjoy its outstanding acoustics and stunning 4,413-pipe organ. Spivey Hall is also a venue for student performers, such as those enrolled in our music program involved in orchestra, jazz band, choir, or opera and musical theatre.
Theatrical Performances: Students Become Professionals

Film, communication, and performing arts students in our theatre program regularly perform in stage productions under the direction of professionals in the theatre industry, some of whom are Clayton State alumni. As a result, our talented students have the opportunity to hone their skills and network with experienced actors, directors, and designers, all while putting on brilliant productions for the community.
Masterworks Chorus: Where Voices Come Together

The Masterworks Chorus is where all of our voices—students, faculty, staff, community members—come together in an ensemble of beautiful music and love of song. This talented group performs an eclectic mix of choral music, which they perform each semester at Spivey Hall.
