Many studies such as the one published in Educational Researcher by Gopalan and Brady, find that students who connect with their campus have a greater sense of belonging (2020). That sense of belonging metric was also a positively linked with higher academic performance, persistence, and even overall student mental well-being (Gopalan & Brady, 2020)
