Minor in Art

The Department of Film, Communication, and Performing Arts offers core courses in art history and Upper-Division courses in art history and in two-dimensional and digital art that can be included in several academic programs on campus.

The Art program also offers a Minor in Art with an emphasis in Studio Art or Art History.

Learning Outcomes

Students who complete the Minor in Art will be able to demonstrate:

  1. Basic skills in artistic creation
  2. Awareness of studio art methodology and conventions
  3. Creative thinking in the study of art history and criticism and the visual arts' relationship with other disciplines

Students interested in the Minor in Art should complete and submit the Change/Addition of a Minor form to the FCPA Department AND complete and submit the Minor in Art Graduation Form to the Registrar along with the graduation form for their degree.
