"Advancing the Legacy" giving campaign exceeds donation goal
(April 12, 2024) - The spirit of giving is always present at Clayton State University.
And this could not be more evident than in the turnout of the 2024 “Advancing the Legacy: 1969 Minutes of Giving” event that took place online from Wednesday, April 10, to Thursday, April 11.
The event served as the official rebrand of the traditional “Days of Giving” event held by the university, but it still delivered on showcasing what Clayton State University is all about – making a positive impact in the lives of our incredible students.
For 2024, the university’s donation goal was initially set for $160,000.
However, thanks to the generosity of its donors, Clayton State University received an incredibly generous collective donation of $213,059 from 488 donors.
Special perks were also included in Advancing the Legacy to incentivize further donations, including receiving a free pair of Clayton State Lakers socks courtesy of the university’s Division of Student Affairs with a donation of at least $50.
Additionally, Clayton State University community partner The First Bank offered a dollar-for-dollar financial match up to $75,000 to all donors during the event, as well.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity, the event proved to be a massive success.
Montrese Adger Fuller, the university’s vice president for Advancement and Strategic Initiatives, was thrilled by the event’s outcome and grateful to all who donated.
“I am very excited that we have exceeded our goal,” Adger Fuller said. “I would like to thank all of our wonderful supporters who gave tremendously to provide support for our students and programs at Clayton State University during our Advancing the Legacy campaign.”
