In terms of advice for Clayton State students looking to build their resume, Sampleton suggests “Try to diversify your experience, whether that is an opportunity to work with an organization, to do an internship, get an on-campus job, or just be involved in outside organizations, take advantage of those opportunities.” She also emphasizes that students should “build their skills in customer service, communication, and leadership. If there's an opportunity for you to get some sales experience, that's always great, working in a retail environment.”

According to Sampleton, “The main position we staff for is our Sales Management Trainee Internship. We offer it three times a year: spring, fall, and summer. Fall and spring are part-time for 20 to 25 hours a week, and the schedule is flexible with their school schedule. In the summer, the positions are 40 hours a week.”

“Students from Clayton State who apply for internships tend to be marketing, business administration, and supply chain management majors, but we hire all majors,” said Sampleton. “We understand that no matter what your major is, you may have the skills and abilities that you can bring to the table based on previous experience.”

Asked why Enterprise Mobility works closely with Clayton State Career Services, Sampleton said Clayton State students seeking internships “have a strong work ethic. They understand the importance of a great customer experience. They communicate effectively and take initiative, but I think most importantly, they look at this as an opportunity to build a career.”

Ayana Abramson is a senior at Clayton State University studying Marketing and is currently interning at Enterprise. Abramson shared that “I had prior sales experience, but I feel that at Enterprise, there's kind of a competitive environment that I really enjoy. I love being able to keep track of my success in this role by monitoring the metrics and seeing the impact I have on the business.”

As an intern at Enterprise, Abramson said she “typically works on car returns. Afterward, I like to confirm appointments and talk to and get feedback from my manager, because my goal is just to do the best work.” She added that she really enjoys interacting with customers, making sure to provide good customer service.”

Abramson’s advice for Clayton State students looking to land an internship is straightforward.  She credits her ability to do well on an interview and obtain her internship with Enterprise to her research and pre-interview practice and preparation.  She also shares that “Clayton State Career Services is great, and I go to them for everything. Interview skills, resume development, and tips for developing cover letters.”

For Clayton State students who have completed an internship and graduated, Enterprise offers more training opportunities to help develop new employees.  Sampleton says, “If you're already a management trainee, we want to get you in a position where you can lead and learn to develop your own team while running a business.” She added that there are many opportunities to learn and grow with Enterprise, “One of the best things about this company is that it's so robust and we promote from within. You can work your way up. So, whether you start as an intern, a management trainee, or an entry-level position, this is truly an opportunity to build a career.”
