Dr. Victoria Foster selected as 50 Over 50 Honoree
(December 5, 2023) - Dr. Victoria Foster, the director of undergraduate programs for the College of Health’s School of Nursing, continues to make headlines on campus at Clayton State.
Foster recently learned that she was selected as a 50 Over 50 honoree for the Georgia State University Gerontology Institute.
The Institute stated that all recognized individuals, who are all at least 50 years old, were “nominated and selected due to their integral role” in promoting and creating greater growth for the institute.
It also stated that all nominees were “largely considered” based on their connection and commitment to Georgia State’s Gerontology Institute, as well as their “impact in the field of gerontology.”
To celebrate, Foster will be formally recognized and celebrated alongside 49 other honorees in March 2024 at Georgia State’s campus.
Naturally, she said she is “extremely honored to be recognized” for her work in gerontology and noted that said work began all the way back during her doctoral studies at Georgia State University.
“I was at the time working on my study of HIV prevention in older adults and was chosen with 14 others across the Nation as a Hartford Scholar,” Foster said. “I am truly thankful for the foundation that the Gerontology Institute provided and for the motivation to continue serving older adults. In the words of Booker T. Washington, ‘It is simply service that measures success.’"
