New Leadership Appointments made by President Lewis

(July 7, 2023) - Several new hires and appointments have been made at Clayton State University since the end of the institute’s 2023 spring semester.

Clayton State University prepares for the upcoming school year

On Wednesday, July 5, Clayton State President Dr. Georj Lewis announced the following appointments to the university’s staff and faculty.

 

Kimberly McCleod

Dr. Kimberly McLeod began her role as provost and vice president for Academic Affairs on July 1. She will also have the rank of full professor in the university’s Department of Psychology. She is joining Clayton State following her role as VP of Economic and Academic Development at Texas A&M-Commerce.

 

 

Montrese Adger Fuller

Beginning August 1, Ms. Montrese Adger Fuller will join Clayton State as the university’s new vice president for Advancement and Strategic Initiatives. She previously served as the VP of Advancement, External Relations and Marketing, and executive director of the GSU Foundation at Gordon State University in Barnesville.

 

 

Jermaine Rolle

Mr. Jermaine Rolle will serve his first official day as the new director of Athletics on August 1. He previously served as the deputy director of Athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where he oversaw six of its sports programs and served as lead for all student-athlete-related services.

 

 

Don Stansberry

Dr. Don Stansberry will also begin serving as vice president of Student Affairs on August 1. He most recently served as the inaugural presidential fellow at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, where he previously served as the university’s VP of Student Engagement and Enrollment Services.

 

 

Nick Henry

Mr. Nick Henry, the current vice president for Fiscal Affairs at Dalton State and Atlanta Metropolitan State Colleges, will serve as Clayton State’s vice president for Business and Operations while, internally, Ms. Corlis Cummings has been appointed as the president’s general counsel and chief legal officer.

 

 

Pres. Lewis says he is “excited for the new members of the leadership team’s path forward as they have an opportunity to contribute to the rich history and outstanding foundation built by other leaders who came before them at Clayton State University.” He went on to highlight that “We are focused on transforming students’ lives and our team of leaders have not only proven to be experts in their fields, they understand the importance of our mission and are intentional about their charge to facilitate success for our students.”
