Special Events Committee

Many campus events including Staff Appreciation Day, Staff Council Elections, Faculty/Staff Fund Drive, State Charitable Fund Drive, Candy Grams and Holiday Tree Lighting are organized by the Special Events Committee. The Special Events Committee also coordinates Campus Connect Social Hour with other departments across campus. 

Special Events Committee Focus 

• Collaborate with HR to welcome all new staff employees and provide them with information pertaining to the Staff Council’s representation of them and how they can get involved in events, committees, and meetings.  
• Plan, organize, and execute participation in Council events and initiatives, as well as various University events.  
• Facilitating cross-collaborations with the HR Employee Engagement Committee on any events being organized or events ideas staff may have. 

Special Events Committee Goals 

• To welcome all new members that joined committees in the last month 
• Continually updating staff participation numbers for events within each month 
• Expressing upcoming event participation needs
