Abstract Submission

Oral presentation/reading. Students will present their work in a talk/reading that should be no longer than 12 minutes. This will be followed by a brief question/answer period. To minimize scheduling conflicts, each student is limited to being the primary presenter on only one oral presentation.

Poster presentation. Students will create a poster (size may not exceed 36” x 48”) that they present during the poster session. Students are expected to be in front of their posters for the full duration of this time. For this reason, each student is limited to being the primary presenter on only one poster presentation.

Performance/creative activity. Students will give a stage performance of their musical or artistic work lasting no longer than 15 minutes.

Poster Creation Guidelines

• The poster size may not exceed 36” x 48” (view examples for PowerPoint slide/size)
• 300 dpi PDF format is preferred, but PowerPoint will be accepted
• Make sure when you create the file in your desired program that it is “full-size.” If images have to be rescaled to fit the large poster size, they may become blurry, grainy, and pixelated.
• We will provide the stands and a staff person will be available to help you mount your printed poster to the foam core on site.
• All presenters must be on-hand to discuss their posters.
• All posters left after the conference ends will be discarded unless other arrangements have been made.

Your poster is a visual presentation to show the highlights of your project and encourage discussions during the Poster Session. To make it stand out and invite people for a closer look, focus on making the theme clear, the poster visually interesting, and its essence clear within the first few minutes.
