When do fall, spring, and summer semester begin?

Fall and spring semesters consist of two 8-week terms offering students flexibility in their program start date.

Term Start Dates:

Spring Term 1: January 9, 2021 Spring Term 2: March 6, 2021 (tentative)

Summer Term: May 22, 2021 (tentative)

Fall Term 1: August 8, 2020 Fall Term 2: October 3, 2020

Is documentation of immunization required?

The Online MBA degree program is 100% online. Students are not required to submit proof of immunizations.

How much does the program cost?

Tuition for the program is $12,705. This does not include books or minimal mandatory fees.

What are the requirements to complete the degree program?

Degree Requirements

The MBA Program consists of 33 credit hours. The following courses comprise the core curriculum:

BUSA 5000 - Decision Concepts* ACCT 5000 - Accounting Concepts** ACCT 5200 - Accounting for Managerial Decision Making BUSA 5200 - Decision Making Under Uncertainty FINA 5100 - Corporate Finance MGMT 5101 - Innovation and Design Thinking MGMT 5111 - Leadership and Organizational Behavior MKTG 5200 - Marketing Strategy MGMT 5750 - Capstone - Global Strategic Management

*1 credit hour **2 credit hours

Students will also take three additional courses of electives (9 credit hours) in their area of concentration. 

The General MBA requires the core curriculum plus three elective courses.

Are graduate assistantships available?

Graduate assistantships are available in the College of Business. The assistantships offer students a reduction in tuition rather than a stipend or salary. Acceptance is competitive due to the limited number of positions. Candidates must commit to a minimum one-year term and up to 19.5 hours per week. Students enrolled in 100% online programs may be considered for graduate assistantships as long as the required duties and responsibilities can be carried out virtually. Is the GMAT or GRE required?

The GMAT/GRE requirement is determined by undergraduate grade point average. Please refer to the admissions requirements for more details.

Admission into the program is based on several factors to ensure a talented and diverse student body. These factors are:

  • Completed online application to the School of Graduate Studies
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum graduating institutional 3.0 GPA from an accredited college or university (as verified by official transcript)
  • Essay of purpose and graduate school interest
  • Three (3) professional references listed with contact information

OR

  • Completed online application to the School of Graduate Studies
  • Bachelor’s degree with a graduating institutional 2.75 - 2.99 GPA from an accredited college or university (as verified by official transcript)
  • Resume demonstrating 3 years of professional/managerial work experience
  • Essay of purpose and graduate school interest
  • Three (3) professional references listed with contact information

OR

  • Completed online application to the School of Graduate Studies
  • Bachelor’s degree with a graduating institutional 2.50 - 2.74 GPA from an accredited college or university (as verified by official transcript)
  • Resume demonstrating 3 years of professional/managerial work experience
  • An interview conducted by Clayton State MBA (interview may be on campus or remote via tele-conference)
  • Essay of purpose and graduate school interest
  • Three (3) professional references listed with contact information

OR

  • Completed online application to the School of Graduate Studies
  • Bachelor’s degree with a graduating institutional 2.00 - 2.49 GPA from an accredited college or university (as verified by official transcript)
  • Resume demonstrating 3 years of professional/managerial work experience
  • A minimum of 1000 total score based on GPA X 200 plus GMAT (GRE) score
  • Essay of purpose and graduate school interest
  • Three (3) professional references listed with contact information

International Students

  • Applicants whose native language is not English or whose language of college instruction was not English are required to submit English Language proficiency through one of the following options: TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the internet-based TOEFL (iBT) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The following TOEFL scores are acceptable: a minimum of 78 on the iBT OR a minimum of 550 on the paper-based TOEFL. The minimum IELTS total for the 6.
  • If an applicant has completed any coursework, degree, or degrees from institutions outside of the United States, he or she must utilize a credentialing evaluating organization. The School of Graduate Studies accepts an official course-by-course evaluation with a GPA that is prepared by either Josef Silny and Associates (https://www.jsilny.org/) or World Education Services (https://www.wes.org/).

Admission to the Accounting Concentration

The Concentration in Accounting requires students to have completed pre-requisite courses equivalent to the following with a grade of “C” or better PRIOR to admission into the MBA program:

  • ACCT2101 – Principles of Financial Accounting
  • ACCT2102 – Principles of Managerial Accounting
  • ACCT3110 – Managerial Cost Accounting
  • ACCT3250 – Taxation of the Individual
  • ACCT3361 – Intermediate Financial Accounting I
  • ACCT3362 – Intermediate Financial Accounting II
