This agreement will be renewed every year and is set to strengthen relationships between Clayton State University and the CCPS’ Elite Scholars Academy – a locally based Cambridge Assessment International and Early College Magnet School for Grades 6-12.
According to the MOU, Clayton State University scholars, professors and advisors may serve as guest speakers at Elite Scholars including a college readiness presentation on Elite's campus twice per academic year. Clayton State University scholars may also serve as mentors/tutors at Elite Scholars.
Additionally, Clayton County Public Schools and the Elite Scholars Academy will continue to promote Clayton State University by advertising the benefits of dual-enrollment and earning an associate degree as well as recognize the new collaboration on websites, on social media and in printed programs.
The MOU also allows both professors and scholars from Clayton State to organize collaborative activities/community service projects with Elite Scholars Academy student organizations in order to make learning relevant and highlight synergies between the high school and college curricula.
