Clayton State Captures Inaugural New South Athletic Conference Championship with Complete Team Victory
(November 18, 2025) - In a true team performance across offense, defense, and special teams, Clayton State University claimed the inaugural New South Athletic Conference (NSAC) football championship with a 42–28 victory over Lighthouse Christian College on Saturday at Steele Road Stadium.

Quarterback Sire Hardaway led the way offensively, delivering an efficient performance. Hardaway completed 15 of 18 passes for 293 yards and four touchdowns, keeping the Lighthouse defense on its heels throughout the afternoon.
Wide receiver Savion West had a standout championship performance, hauling in three receptions for 142 yards and a touchdown, while Danimon Moxey added a four-yard touchdown grab to help power the Lakers' aerial assault.
Special teams delivered one of the biggest momentum swings of the game when the Lakers opened the second half with an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, energizing the home crowd and extending the Clayton State lead.
The defense also joined the scoring effort. Ebine Griffin made a highlight-reel play when he intercepted a pass from Lighthouse quarterback Ashton Nunes and returned it 43 yards for a touchdown, putting the Lakers firmly in control.
Clayton State outgained Lighthouse 429 yards to 323, executing with precision and maintaining steady command of the game despite a late push from Lighthouse’s ground attack.
With the victory, the Lakers make history as the first-ever NSAC football champions, capping an extraordinary season with a division trophy, championship trophy and solidifying themselves as the conference’s top program.
