Regents award Dr. Antoinette Miller for most effective online teaching practice
(January 18, 2022) - Dr. Antoinette Miller, Department Chair and Professor of Psychology, has been selected as the recipient of the 2022 Regents’ Teaching Excellence Award for Online Teaching for the University System of Georgia.
In her portfolio submission, Dr. Miller demonstrated a strong commitment to quality online teaching and learning as evidenced by teaching, service, and scholarly activities designed to advance the quality of online teaching and learning. Her use of effective and innovative online teaching practices has resulted in exemplary student engagement, student satisfaction, and effectiveness in achieving desired learning outcomes.
According to a select review panel of USG faculty and administrators, “Dr. Miller has been a leader at Clayton State University in online teaching for the past 10 years. She has been a mentor to others as they design their own online classes and has been recognized by her students as ‘approachable’ and ‘supportive’ as she scaffolds their learning.”
Dr. Miller says, “(I) strive to create environments where the content is engaging; the learners are connected to that content, to each other, and to me; and that the overall experience is welcoming, engaging, and above all, fruitful.”
At the annual Regents’ Scholarship Gala, she will be officially recognized by the Chancellor and receive a $5,000 award.
