
Peer Financial Counseling and Planning Program
What is PFCP?
Our mission is to provide our peers with a basic understanding of personal financial management to help them take charge and make wiser decisions when it comes to the different challenges of life and opportunities, many of which touch upon the topic of money. Many students come to college very ill-equipped to handle their personal finances. Clayton State’s Peer Financial Counseling and Planning (PFCP) program is designed to address this problem.
PFCP Topics
Spending plan - In this module, we will map out a practical plan to meet your regular financial needs.
Credit - In this module, we will review the basics of credit and discuss the benefits and risks associated with credit.
Loans - In this module, we will focus on loan repayment options.
Debt - In this module, we will cover important tips that will help you to better understand and tackle debt.
Car Shopping - In this module, we will cover important tips that can be utilized when searching for a vehicle.
Apartment Hunting - In this module, we will cover important details before signing the lease to an apartment.
Retirement - In this module, we will discuss tips to create a retirement strategy.
