Visit Georgia’s Georgia's My Voter Page to apply online or download a postage-paid paper application to submit by mail or in person. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks to receive your precinct card.

Who is eligible to vote?

To register to vote you must:

Be a citizen of the United States.
Be a legal resident of the county.
Be at least 17 1/2 years of age to register and 18 years of age to vote.
Not be serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude.
Have not been found mentally incompetent by a judge.

Make sure you have your precinct card

Counties in Georgia issue a precinct card after reviewing and approving voter registration applications. If you haven’t received your card within 3 to 4 weeks of registering, contact your local county registration office to request a new precinct card or check the status of your application. You can also check your status through My Voter Page.

How do I register if I’m an out-of-state student?

Students can choose to use their school address to register to vote in the state of Georgia. Students also can register or remain registered at a permanent address in Georgia and vote using an absentee ballot. Visit campusvoteproject.org for more information about your choices.

Types of acceptable photo identification

A Georgia driver’s license.
A valid Georgia voter photo ID card or other valid photo ID issued by any branch/division of local, state, or federal government authorized to give photo ID cards.
A valid United States passport.
A valid employee photo ID card issued by any branch/division of local, state, or federal government branch or agency
A valid United States military photo ID card.
A valid tribal photo ID card.
