Welcome to the Office Accounting Services
The Office of Accounting Services is responsible for all accounting functions of the university which includes; General Accounting, Banking, Fixed Asset Accounting, Accounts Payables, Tax Accounting, Contracts and Grants Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Travel and Expenses. We have a fiduciary responsibility to record, process, and report all accurate, proper and valid financial transactions of the University. We are also charged with developing and implementing policies and procedures that ensure the safeguarding of the university’s assets and compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. We are responsible for implementing better business practices for all financial procedures and practices. We strive to meet our fiduciary responsibility to the university and public through Accountability, Professionalism, and Staff Development.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Accounting Services department is to maintain records related to the financial and banking activities of the University, and to provide useful information for decision makers fulfilling the vision, mission and goals of the University. Accounting Services also accumulates and disseminates reliable, comparable fiscal data within the guidelines established by the University, Board of Regents, State of Georgia and other State and Federal agencies, including the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB). Accounts Payable and Expenses, division of the Accounting Services department, expedite payments to the University’s customers, employees and students and work closely with Procurement for purchased items.
