Safe Space Training

Safe Space

The Safe Space Program aims to educate the campus community about the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities by focusing on appropriate terminology, issues affecting the LGBT communities, and advocacy strategies to create inclusive and supportive environments for LGBT populations on and off Clayton State’s campus.

The Safe Space Program is sponsored by the Department of Laker Life and D.E.E.P. Educators. Trainings are held throughout the academic year for students, faculty, and staff of Clayton State. Individuals who have completed the Safe Space Training may post the Safe Space symbol on their office door, backpacks, or binders as a way to designate themselves as safe allies for LGBT students, colleagues and friends.
