Library Course Reserves
Course Reserves are materials placed on reserve by instructors for use by the students in their classes for short loan periods and are not eligible for renewals.
Faculty
Faculty may place books, articles, video recordings, sound recordings, music scores and other materials on reserve for their students to check out for limited loan periods.
Instructors may place certain licensed electronic content from GALILEO such as journal and newspaper articles, eBook chapters, conference proceedings, images, maps, and streaming video on electronic reserves. Students enrolled in the course can access E-Reserve materials for their class from any Internet connected computer via a link in the Gil-Find catalog.
Additional guidelines for faculty in the use of Course Reserves are available. Course Reserves Guidelines
Students
Students should ask at the Information Desk for materials by giving the course name and course number, then the title of the item. A valid LakerCard is required to check out materials.
Materials should be promptly returned to the book return at the Information Desk before the loan period expires. Students are held responsible for any lost or damaged materials charged to their record.
There is no charge to access E-Reserve course reading lists. Enrolled students may view, download or print reading materials for their class. Copyrighted or licensed electronic reserve items are only available via a CSU SWAN username and password, the GALILEO password or a course password distributed by the instructor.
Students can search the Catalog to see what materials have been placed on reserve for their class.
