Transfer students can find a welcoming, inclusive environment here at Clayton State.

Each year, we admit more than 800 new transfer students. Your success is important to us. You’ll have access to support services to meet your needs and our mandatory orientation session means you can be admitted into Clayton State with ease.

Admission Requirements

Apply online via GA Futures.

Applicants must pay a nonrefundable $40 application fee (credit or debit card) or submit a fee waiver.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must submit an official transcript from each college or university previously attended. Students currently attending college should submit a "preliminary" transcript.

Official transcripts must have the institution’s seal and must be presented in an unopened official envelope from the sending institution.

We currently accept electronic transcripts from E-Transcript providers such as:

If your previous school(s), college(s), or universities offer this service, submit official transcripts to: transcripts@clayton.edu.

Transfer credit is normally accepted for college work earned at regionally accredited colleges and universities, provided the courses are comparable to the Clayton State University curriculum. A minimum grade of C or better will be accepted for transfer credit (D’s are accepted in some majors and for some lower division courses, please contact the school or college that you are interested in pursuing for more information).

An evaluation of your credit will be sent to you by the Registrar’s Office after you have been admitted. If you have questions regarding your transfer evaluation, please call the Registrar’s Office at (678) 466-4145.

Regional accrediting bodies include:

  • Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools
  • New England Association of Schools and Colleges
  • North Central Association of Colleges and Schools

  • Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
  • Western Association of Schools and Colleges

NOTE: Students attending community colleges must have completed all of their learning support courses.

REQUIREMENTS

If you're an international student applying to Clayton State University, follow these guidelines.

All international academic documents (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, etc.):

  • Must be in English.  If not in English, provide certified translations along with the original transcripts in the native language.  
  •  Must be evaluated by an accredited service, such as

  • Must be formatted as follows:
      - High School Transcripts: Document-by-document evaluation with GPA (required for test-optional eligibility).  
      - College/University Transcripts: Course-by-course evaluation.
