Film Production Career Opportunities
The film production major prepares students for a wide variety of careers in film and video production and for additional academic coursework in graduate school. Students may pursue career paths in camera, sound, and lighting, such as camera operator, assistant camera, director of photography, grip, sound mixer, best boy, gaffer, and others. Post-production careers include work as an assistant editor, colorist, editor, compositor, sound designer, and visual effects editor. Students interested in producing and directing may pursue work as a production manager, assistant director, line producer, producer, or director.
The required internship is part of the film degree and ensures students have additional professional preparation before graduation.
