Computer Science and Information Technology Facilities

Laboratories provide hardware, software, platforms, and places for students and faculty to study and conduct research in CS and IT related topics. 

Robotics and Sensor Laboratory

Robotics lab is located in UC 314 and affiliated to College of Information and Mathematical Sciences. It is equipped with desktop workstations, robots, 3-D printers, and various AI research equipment. Students and faculty can use this lab to explore automation, AI, application of AI in environmental science and other domains. The lab also supports outreach activities such as hosting visits of local middle or high school students and short training camp for K-12 students.

Cyber Security Laboratory

The Cyber Security Lab, housed in UC 324, serves students and faculty for use in security related courses and research. The lab has its own separate network consisting of a server and workstations to facilitate experimental setting and practices.

Data Analytics Laboratory

The Data Analytics Laboratory is housed in UC423 of James Baker University Center Building. This lab features an Intel Analytics Server R740 with specifications including

  • 2x Intel Xeon Silver 4210R 2.4G
  • 12x 16GB RDIMM RAM
  • 8x 1.92TB SATA
  • NVIDIA Quadro RTX 8000 48GB GPU
  • Intel x710 Quad Port 10GBE

Students and faculty of CIMS can use this lab to study and work on projects related to computational science, engineering programming, machine learning, deep learning and AI, parallel and distributed processing, data analytics and visualization.
