CAAHEP/CoAES Accreditation
The Health and Fitness Management (HFMG) program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and is assessed by the Committee on the Accreditation for the Exercise Sciences (CoAES).
Our program is one of only 66 undergraduate programs in the United States to have this credential. This designation ensures that our students are amply prepared to become exercise professionals through a nationally recognized rigorous program of study.
Accreditation by CAAHEP/CoAES requires the HFMG faculty to collect data on specific program outcomes to ensure that students are adequately prepared for their chosen profession. See below for the outcomes from the 2023–2024 Academic Year:
- 100% of the HFMG students successfully completed the internship requirements for the HCMG program and CAAHEP/CoAES.
- 100% of the HFMG majors that graduated and returned the survey reported that they “strongly or somewhat agree” that the program curriculum, faculty and overall student experience prepared them for their current position.
- Employers that returned the satisfaction survey reported that their employee’s HFMG curriculum adequately prepared them for their position. 100% reported that they “often exceeds expectations or exceeds expectations” regarding their professionalism as well as their knowledge and skills and abilities to perform their job duties.
