About the Office of Institutional Equity

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 states: "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance..."—United States Code.

The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) serves as a vital resource and leader in promoting and furthering the University's commitment to equal opportunity for all members of its community.

It is our mission to provide an environment on campus that is inclusive, respectful, and free from discrimination and harassment. We are committed and dedicated to the University’s nondiscrimination statement.

Dear Clayton State University Community,

The Office of Institutional Equity here at Clayton State University welcomes you to a new semester. The Office of Institutional Equity's (OIE) mission and top priority is to provide leadership, support, and programming on Title IX, equity, diversity, respect, and inclusiveness for all Clayton State University community members. OIE handles employee and student allegations involving sexual violence, sexual misconduct, harassment, bullying, protected class discrimination (race, gender, age, national origin, ethnicity, and disability), retaliation, etc.
