COVID-19 Campus Information

Updated March 2024

COVID-19 vaccines are no longer available on campus. They are available at most retail pharmacies for those with health insurance. For the uninsured and the underinsured, local health departments are the recommended option. The Clayton County Health District is nearby to campus for those needing a low or no cost option.

Free COVID-19 self-test kits are available in University Health Services (UHS), at the Information Desk on the lower level of the University Center, at the desk in the Student Activities Center, and in the Laker Village Clubhouse for students, faculty and staff. UHS no longer tests for COVID-19. Work and class excuses are not provided by UHS for COVID-19.

Those who test positive for COVID-19 should follow the CDC guidance for respiratory viruses. Updated CDC COVID-19 Guidance and CDC Respiratory Virus Guidance should be used by the campus community as a resource for testing and care.

Supervisors and faculty should follow procedures for positive cases of COVID-19 as for any other contagious respiratory illness acquired by a member of the campus community. Re-testing is NOT required to return to the workplace or the classroom. Supervisors may contact Human Resources for assistance with managing employee absences.
